- Title must be applied for within three months of the contract (Land Code ch. 20 s. 2). The stamp duty is on the higher of the price and last year's assessed value.
- The deeds already in the property come with it – ask the agent how many there are. Only the new ones carry stamp duty.
How this is worked out
Title: SEK 15 for every full thousand (1.5 %) of the higher of the price and last year's assessed value, at least SEK 50, plus the fee SEK 825. Deeds: SEK 20 for every full thousand (2 %) of the new deeds, at least SEK 50, plus SEK 375 per deed. New deeds = the loan − existing deeds.
